Kansas City Public Schools 

FACILITY PLAN AND 10-YEAR CAPITAL FUNDING PLAN 

STRATA is currently part of a team to aid the Kansas City Public School District in Kansas City, Missouri as they work towards a Facility Plan and 10-year capital funding plan. This includes Educational Suitability Assessments for over 30 buildings, previously completed facility condition assessments, and ongoing stakeholder feedback. The overall goal of the District is to understand the 10-year capital funding needs and issue COP bonds a GO bond vote. Currently in the discovery and exploration phase, STRATA has been actively participating in site visits for the Educational Suitability Assessments. The Design Team is exploring how buildings support teaching and learning, and how they support the community and cultural context in the surrounding neighborhoods. Recommendations for each building will start to formulate based on this assessment, paired with other factors, such as reviewing the overall magnitude to understand needs vs funding.
