Saline County Courthouse

ASSESSMENT AND FEASIBILITY STUDY, MASTER PLANNING, MARSHALL, MISSOURI

STRATA Architecture Inc. was hired by Saline County to serve as Architect of Record for an Assessment and Feasibility Study for the historic c. 1883 Saline County Courthouse. The project was funded through the State of Missouri Heritage Properties Program. Our firm worked with the Saline County Commissioners and the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office to meet the goals and milestone deadlines outlined within the program. Together with a team of consultants, we surveyed and assessed the existing conditions of the facility (roof, masonry, windows, plaster, lighting, etc.), explored ADA accessibility options (including the installation of a new elevator), and provided recommendations for structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Our final deliverable was a comprehensive building assessment report which included probable cost estimates for future work, recommendations for future phased construction and options for potential funding strategies.
