CHWC: Historic Fire Station No. 9

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR REHABILITATION

The Historic Fire Station No. 9, originally constructed in 1910 for the City of Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department, is located within the historic Prescott Neighborhood. After the building was abandoned for a newer facility, the property was converted into a Neighborhood Community Center. STRATA created an adaptive re-use program within the client’s budget for the building and produced exterior and the interior rehabilitation construction documents for the work. The program included administrative offices, private gym spaces, public and private meeting areas, office spaces for local banking and mortgage lending institutions, and community meeting spaces. We also served as the Preservation Consultant for both Federal and State Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits.
