INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR RENOVATION AND REHABILITATION OF TWO CLASSIC KANSAS CITY COLONNADE APARTMENT BUILDINGS

Our firm was hired as the architect of record for the adaptive re-use of four 1908 Colonnade Apartment buildings into high end residential condominiums. Strata provided comprehensive architectural services from design development through construction administration. We worked with the owner and consultants to develop construction documents for the interior and the exterior work including: new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, extensive site work, exterior masonry restoration, reconstruction of colonnade porches, new parking areas, interior finishes and landscaping for the overall finished project. These buildings are in a series of Colonnades that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and utilized State and Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit incentives as an additional source of funding. As such, our firm designed and oversaw the entire construction process in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
